Quilting through the ages.....

We just love the feel of a soft, handmade quilt wrapping us in warmth and love, and we're not the only ones..........We have been looking  back at the history of quilts and find it fascinating that for hundreds of years people have felt the same. In the 1800's the American Indian Plains tribes created quilts, often with an octagonal star in the center. These quilts were used to replace the buffalo hides they used to keep warm, once the bison were hunted almost to extinction.

Quilting throughout the world and over time has produced such diversity. We find it amazing looking at these weird and wonderfully different works of love, as we embark on our own quilting journey.
